New keys collection from Tiffany&Co

How cute are these keys from Tiffany&Co.

The romantic notion of holding the key to someones heart etc is used to perfection in this latest collection from the world famous jewellery makers. They have gone back through their archives for this collection, trying to recreate some of the amazing handcrafted work of previous goldsmiths.

I have SERIOUSLY hinted to the boyfriend that these would make a perfect gift for me...
But eh, well prices start at €100 and go up to about €3500... and well, I would want the most expensive one! =)
Lets just say, I could be waiting a while for him to get me one!

Spring/Summer 09

Women’s fashion has never been so eclectic or affordable. There is so much to choose from that I can’t decide which trends from this season that I like the most. I am torn mostly between the “tribal” look, probably made most famous by the likes of Sienna Miller and the “romantic” look -think floral, ruffles & bows as seen on the runways of Alice Temperley, Dior & BCBG.
But, thankfully the high street has saved the day again (not to mention the credit card!) by imitating these designer trends at low cost or at least affordable prices!
Here’s the low down....

1)
Tribal Look –think summer time in Mexico. This trend has a nice laidback feel to it so whatever you do don’t go for overkill. I’m thinking once the weather starts picking up, a pair of fringed sandals, hot-pants, and a perfect tribal cami-top would complete the look perfectly. See look-book 1 below.

Indian Floral Cami €52 @ Warehouse.
Studded frayed hotpants approx €40 @ Topshop.
Suede Stud & fringe sandal €40 @ Warehouse
Suede Tassel holdall approx €60 @ Topshop

If you want to adapt this trend to suit an event or eveningwear look, head to Monsoon for some fantastic dresses or simply add a pair of high heels. See look book 2 below.

Attie Maxi Dress approx €200 @ Monsoon
Carmen patch dress € 170 @ Monsoon
SAFARI VooDoo inspired sandal approx €85 @ Topshop

For those of you that don’t fancy baring your legs or ending up looking like a bit of a cowboy trying to emulate the tribal look, the romantic trend might suit you more. Think pastel colours, floral top & cute bows.

Alice Temperley London Spring/Summer 09 runway show.

Work two trends at once -ruffles & one shoulder.
Get the purple corsage dress above for €97 @ Warehouse.

2008; wrap up!!

There have been many Fashion highs & lows of 2008....
Although the economic downturn has everybody speaking about the recession and lack of financial stability, the year in Fashion has certainly still managed to be as unpredictable and vibrant as ever before...

Wrap UP;
PPQ -This amazing label became known on my radar.. Totally set to become on a lot more peoples radar in 2009.. watch this space!!!

The year of the new fashion icon -Cheryl Cole.. How great was it being able to watch her in your very own living room every Saturday night.. And, what a fabulous season of style she gave us!! Thumbs up on the fashion front to Cheryl..

2008 summer was the season of gladiator sandals and cute summer style.. Autumn was full of lace and Winter effortlessly morphed into dark romance..
The year ends with a mixture of gothic vibes, cirque du soleil and an array of crystals and embellishments.

Below is a wrap up in images of just some of this years style....
See you in 2009 for more Fashion forward stuff... xx

Get ready for Autumn

Every fashionista knows that the ending of summer & the arrival of Autumn means one thing... a wardrobe overhaul!!
So throw those gladiator sandals to the back of the wardrobe, the following is a list of must have items for Autumn...

Little Black Dress; yes it is VERY little.. and oh so sexy... but you know you want to!! Get those legs preened & primed or team with black opaque tights to be very fashion forward right now!! For an extra rock chick look keep wearing the ankle shoe boots or team with a studded belt.

Flirtatious Romantic Ruffles; pale pastel colours are right on trend! Find a ruffled blouse in pale pinks or creams. Wear tucked into flared jeans to add a sixties twist to the combo.

Big,bright, bold & beautiful; there was a touch of the seventies in many of this years Autumn/Winter collections. So if your feeling adventurous opt for bright, bold pattens on dresses, tops & jackets.

The collarless coat; show of your collarbone is this sensual and alluring take on this seasons coat. Confused?? Check out Banana Republics version of this trend below.

The only way to wear trousers this season is slouchy -naturally.

Tartan is huge this season & if you don't like it, I'm sure that by the end of the season you'll have learned to love it.. To incorporate two key trends of this season tartan & hosiery, find a pair of tartan tights (as seen at the D&G show). Check out below for previews!!

PS: Don't forget to team everything with my favourite accessory of the moment; the pussy bow alice band -topshop have a fabulous satin version that comes in 4 amazing colours!!

Happy shopping xx

Fashioning the work place

So lastnight I had a quick visit to Penneys & I was in heaven! They have a fantastic collection of clothes that would make any fashion forward lady look fabulous in the workplace! They really have everything that you could need for your work wear wardrobe!! I recently started a new full time job so at first I thought I was only loving the visit to the store because they had exactly what I was looking for(always a plus!). But, then I realised that they actually had so many different types of things that I was looking for.. so not just for those of us that need a new work outfit.
If any of you are looking for any of the following items get yourself to a Penneys store near you pronto!

1.
Work trousers; all sorts of different styles & colours. I particularly love the flared grey checked -very nice fit too!

2.
Work jackets; not just middle aged looking work jackets but funky jackets to suit all ages too.

3.
Black dress worn with white shirt underneath; for the summer days (if we ever get any!) It's not too short & looks professional.

4.
Tartan boob tube dress; obviously not for the office but for the after work party

5.
Two tone dress; looks like a high waisted skirt with a top but it's actually a dress. Available in grey/red tweed effect or in tan/black. This sexy number would carry you from the workplace to a night out with ease!!

Happy Shopping!!!! J,x
